Deck overview

This Abzan deck centers on Kathril, Aspect Warper as a potent keyword-soup Voltron commander. The primary game plan fills the graveyard early with multi-keyword creatures through self-mill, cycling, and targeted cards like Buried Alive. On Turn 5, casting Kathril aggregates flying, double strike, trample, vigilance, indestructible, and hexproof counters while simultaneously growing Kathril into a massive 11/11 threat. Kathril then systematically eliminates opponents through lethal combat damage across subsequent turns. Standalone keyword beaters such as Zetalpa, Primal Dawn, Sire of Seven Deaths, and Akroma, Angel of Wrath provide strong redundancy and backup reanimation targets via Unburial Rites and Unbreakable Bond. While the deck features built-in resilience against targeted removal thanks to hexproof and indestructible counters, it remains vulnerable to early graveyard hate and non-targeted board sweepers.
