Deck overview

This deck is an Esper control and pillowfort strategy commanded by Saruman of Many Colors. It establishes early defensive stability through asymmetric taxing pieces such as Grand Arbiter Augustin IV, Blind Obedience, Ghostly Prison, and Propaganda. These pieces slow down aggressive opponents and tax opposing spells while preserving the pilot's mana. The deck deploys versatile engines including Zur the Enchanter to tutor critical enchantments and Call of the Ring to generate continuous card advantage. Once Saruman enters the battlefield, casting two spells in a single turn triggers repeatable mill and lets the pilot cast high-impact spells from opposing graveyards for free. The deck protects its board with Ward, countermagic, and protective spells like Valorous Stance and Ratadrabik of Urborg. It closes out the game through unblockable commander combat damage with Steel of the Godhead, flyer pressure, and asymmetric wipes like Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite.
