Deck overview

This deck is an Abzan lifegain and reanimator midrange list commanded by Betor, Ancestor's Voice. The strategy revolves around weaponizing life totals in both directions: gaining life grows your board with +1/+1 counters, while paying life reanimates high-impact creatures directly from the graveyard during each of your end steps. Early turns focus on mana ramp, self-mill, and low-cost life manipulators. Once Betor enters on Turn 4, the engine takes off immediately by buffing existing creatures and returning fallen threats. Turn 5 escalates the threat level with explosive pieces like Archangel of Thune, Nykthos Paragon, Beledros Witherbloom, and Doom Whisperer. By Turn 6, the deck converts massive board states and lifegain into lethal combat damage using Akroma's Will or direct drain through Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose. Robust protection pieces and redundant recursion make the engine resilient against removal.
