Deck overview

This deck is a high-velocity Grixis Spellslinger and Voltron deck commanded by Fire Lord Azula. The strategy revolves around deploying Azula quickly, attacking to generate two temporary red mana through Firebending, and casting instant-speed spells during combat to copy them. By duplicating pump spells such as Unleash Fury, Bulk Up, and Tainted Strike, Azula quickly reaches lethal power, eliminating opponents in sequence through commander damage or poison. Card advantage engines like Archmage Emeritus and The One Ring replenish the hand, while Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar and Chandra's Ignition convert single-target combat bursts into table-wide knockouts. The list also includes a compact infinite creature combo using Dualcaster Mage and Irenicus's Vile Duplication, giving the deck a potent alternate win condition when combat lines face heavy resistance. Robust free interaction like Fierce Guardianship and Deadly Rollick protects Azula during critical combat windows.
