Deck overview

This Sultai deck transforms traditional Elfball into an efficient graveyard combo strategy piloted by Thranduil, the Elvenking. Thranduil absorbs all activated abilities of Elf creature cards residing in your graveyard. By utilizing efficient creature tutors such as Buried Alive and Jarad's Orders, the deck deposits Devoted Druid, Greenhilt Trainee, and Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord directly into the graveyard. Once Thranduil is deployed and ready to activate, he loops Greenhilt Trainee's buff ability with Devoted Druid's untap ability to generate arbitrarily large power and infinite green mana. The deck converts this advantage into an immediate victory by sacrificing an infinitely buffed creature to Jarad's activated ability, draining all opponents simultaneously. Backed by cheap mana dorks, protective tools like Selfless Safewright and Iron-Shield Elf, and a robust combat-focused backup plan with Lathril, Blade of the Elves and Genesis Wave, the deck presents a resilient and fast clock.
