Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black lifegain and attrition strategy commanded by Gollum, Obsessed Stalker. The primary game plan revolves around casting Gollum early and leveraging his skulk ability to deal combat damage to each opponent. Once tagged, Gollum's ability permanently marks those players, forcing them to lose life equal to the total life you gained during your turn at each of your end steps. The deck supports this attrition engine with extensive lifelink creatures, extort triggers, and burst lifegain spells like Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Exsanguinate. While the deck features an infinite win condition in Exquisite Blood paired with Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose or Enduring Tenacity, its standard operating route grinds down opposing life totals across mid-game turns. A robust, low-mana spot removal suite keeps threatening commanders and creatures in check while your life buffer expands safely.
