Commander: Zask, Skittering Swarmlord

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Golgari Insect tribal midrange deck helmed by Zask, Skittering Swarmlord that turns the graveyard into a second hand and a resource engine. Zask lets you cast Insects and play lands from the graveyard while recycling dead Insects to the bottom of the library and milling for fuel, creating a self-feeding loop of bodies, land drops, and value. The deck layers sacrifice outlets (Ashnod's Altar, Cauldron of Essence), token producers, landfall payoffs, and aristocrat drains with a dense Insect toolbox. Primary wins come from overwhelming combat (often capped by Triumph of the Hordes infect), life-drain engines tied to deaths and graveyard size, and a handful of efficient combo lines assembled via Birthing Pod and Pyre of Heroes. The commander is a strong enabler rather than a hard linchpin; the 99 still develops boards, pods, and drains without him.
