Kaalia of the Vast by Bruderherz

Format: Commander

Commander: Kaalia of the Vast

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Kaalia of the Vast is a classic Mardu "cheat into play" aggro deck: resolve the 2/2 flying commander, connect in combat, and put an Angel, Demon, or Dragon directly onto the battlefield tapped and attacking. The list carries nearly twenty high-end tribal payoffs, from Drakuseth, Maw of Flames and Gisela, Blade of Goldnight to Terror of Mount Velus. A five-card extra-combat package - Aurelia, the Warleader, Hellkite Charger, Scourge of the Throne, Relentless Assault, and Waves of Aggression - multiplies Kaalia's trigger into multiple combat phases per turn. Backup plans include graveyard recursion through Unburial Rites, Bond of Revival, Reya Dawnbringer, and Emeria Shepherd, plus hardcasting large flyers when the commander is unavailable. The deck is explosive but linear: it wants to resolve Kaalia, protect her, and chain combat steps before the table can stabilize.
