Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov Angel tribal and aristocrat reanimation strategy commanded by Shilgengar, Sire of Famine. In the early game, it curves out with efficient mana rocks, utility Angels, and lifegain engines such as Giada, Font of Hope, Bishop of Wings, and Righteous Valkyrie. Once Shilgengar enters the battlefield, it converts high-toughness Angels into massive stockpiles of Blood tokens at instant speed. By paying three colored mana and sacrificing six Blood tokens, Shilgengar mass-reanimates every creature from the graveyard to the battlefield simultaneously. This instant-speed army deployment reassembles catastrophic aerial board states featuring Avacyn, Angel of Hope, Archangel of Thune, Lyra Dawnbringer, and Serra's Emissary. Backed by protection spells like Akroma's Will, Eerie Interlude, and Ghostway, the deck quickly converts lifegain buffs and indestructible flying swarms into game-ending combat strikes.
