New Untitled Deck by user8301684

Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug the Impenetrable

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Smaug the Impenetrable is a Rakdos treasure engine. The primary plan is to cast Smaug early, then repeatedly hit him with noncombat damage from Pyrohemia or Pestilence. Each point of damage creates a Treasure, while the same activation also deals damage to every opponent. Once Goldspan Dragon, Alchemist's Talent, or Xorn improves the Treasure output, the loop pays for itself and becomes lethal. Secondary paths include classic treasure/drain synergies, Crackle with Power as an X-spell finish, and Revel in Riches as an alternate win. Smaug the Magnificent acts as a hidden backup commander and a dangerous damage source that scales with Treasure count. The deck is built around the damage-to-Treasure loop more than combat.
