Commander: Queen Marchesa

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This is a Mardu midrange politics deck helmed by Queen Marchesa that weaponizes the monarch emblem, pillowfort taxes, and goad redirection to stay ahead on cards while the table fights itself. The primary plan is to claim the crown, defend it with attack taxes and forced combat, then close through a Knights/Humans combat swarm backed by anthems, melee, and drain enchantments. Secondary paths include slow token inevitability from Assemble the Legion, recursive midrange value via Sun Titan and Squall, SeeD Mercenary, and opportunistic life-drain from Knights' Charge and Smitten Swordmaster's adventure. There are no infinite combo lines; the deck wins by attrition combat and monarch card advantage. Queen Marchesa is the premier crown engine (haste body, ETB monarch, upkeep Assassins), but several other monarch-on-ETB creatures keep the plan alive if she is answered.
