Gone Fishing by steadfast

Format: Commander

Commander: Kenessos, Priest of Thassa

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Kenessos, Priest of Thassa leads a Simic sea-monster midrange deck. The primary plan is to use Kenessos's upgraded scry and activated ability to put Krakens, Leviathans, Octopuses, and Serpents directly onto the battlefield from the top of the library, bypassing their high mana costs. Backup plans are traditional ramp into hard-cast monsters, Monster Manual as a second cheat, and Spawning Kraken doubling as a token engine. The command zone is an engine rather than a finisher; the deck has no double-faced commander or true hidden second commander. It wins by overwhelming combat, usually through islandwalk, trample, unblockable from Thassa, and a huge swarm of 9/9 Kraken tokens.
