Deck overview

This Rakdos deck is a group-slug control-burn build helmed by Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls. The plan is to deploy permanents that make every opponent lose life and draw cards each turn, converting each opponent's first life-loss per turn into a card and a +1/+1 counter on the commander. The 99 is a punitive tax rack: Underworld Dreams plus draw enablers like Spiteful Visions and Stormfist Crusader, upkeep taxes in Roiling Vortex and Mogis, God of Slaughter, and land/activation taxes from Zo-Zu the Punisher and Harsh Mentor. The finishers are big X-drains (Exsanguinate), damage multiplication from Solphim, Mayhem Dominus and Ojer Axonil, Deepest Might, and the end-step double-dip of Archfiend of Despair. Goad effects - Kardur, Doomscourge, Disrupt Decorum, Vengeful Ancestor - redirect combat while the pings accumulate. It is a slow, attrition-first deck that grinds out midrange tables but is soft to fast combo and able to act on the stack only rarely.
