Deck overview

This deck is a high-velocity Selesnya Voltron aggro list commanded by Sergeant John Benton. The game plan uses 1-mana acceleration to cast Benton on Turn 2. Thanks to built-in haste and trample, Benton attacks immediately, dealing combat damage and triggering his card-draw ability to fill your hand. On Turn 3, the deck deploys double strike enablers like Flaming Fist or stacked pump spells like Invigorate and Become Immense to eliminate the first opponent with 21 commander damage. This massive damage draw provides a full hand of 1-mana protection spells like Tamiyo's Safekeeping and Tyvar's Stand to defend Benton against opposing interaction. The remaining two opponents are eliminated sequentially on Turns 4 and 5. While the deck boasts high speed, explosive card advantage, and robust single-target shielding, it depends entirely on its commander and actively provides cards to defending players.
