Commander: Anzrag, the Quake-Mole

Bracket: 4

DeckCheck Threat Index: 46

Deck overview

This deck leverages Anzrag, the Quake-Mole as an aggressive combat engine that turns opposing blockers into additional combat phases. Dense 1-2 CMC ramp allows Anzrag to enter on Turn 3, setting up immediate Turn 4 pressure. By equipping Anzrag with indestructible effects or damage-prevention artifacts like Dolmen Gate and Mithril Coat, the deck forces opponents into combat traps using Lure effects or Anzrag's activated ability. Each block untaps the team and grants an extra combat phase, enabling snowballing commander damage and card draw via Infiltration Lens and Garruk's Uprising. Damage multipliers such as Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar, Xenagos, God of Revels, and Zopandrel, Hunger Dominus rapidly translate single attacks into full-table eliminations. When Anzrag is answered, high-impact backup threats like Minsc & Boo, Timeless Heroes and the infinite combat loop of Aggravated Assault with Neheb, the Eternal close out games efficiently.
