Deck overview

This Sultai deck is an explosive landfall combo and value engine commanded by Homer, the Hermit. The primary strategy focuses on deploying low-cost mana ramp and land-putter creatures like Sakura-Tribe Scout and Scaled Herbalist to establish early board presence. The deck then transitions into a decisive combo finish using Retreat to Coralhelm or Elven Raft-Steerer alongside a bounceland such as Simic Growth Chamber. When the bounceland enters, it triggers the untapper to reset the creature while returning itself to hand, creating an unbounded loop of landfall triggers. With Homer, the Hermit on the battlefield, each trigger mills opponents based on your Crab count, emptying opposing libraries in a single turn. Backup win conditions include non-combat life drain via Iridescent Vinelasher, Retreat to Hagra, and Ob Nixilis, the Fallen, or overwhelming token swarms with Scute Swarm. Heavy land recursion ensures resilient mid-to-late game recovery.
