Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov go-wide aggro and aristocrats strategy led by Aron, Benalia's Ruin. The game plan establishes an early board presence with low-cost creatures and recursive fodder such as Doomed Traveler and Weaponcraft Enthusiast. Once Aron enters the battlefield, the deck converts expendable tokens and creatures into permanent team-wide +1/+1 counters, steadily scaling small attackers into game-ending threats. Secondary synergies support this combat focus through token production from Adeline, Resplendent Cathar, board evasion via Elite Scaleguard, and incidental lifegain triggers. The deck operates primarily at sorcery speed on an unaccelerated mana curve, utilizing natural land drops and minimal artifact ramp. Because it lacks fast mana, tutors, or infinite combo lines, the deck wins strictly through honest combat steps over multiple turns. Its main vulnerabilities stem from sweepers and targeted removal that reset accumulated counters, but redundant low-cost creatures and commander recasting allow it to steadily rebuild.
