Deck overview

This deck uses Dalakos, Crafter of Wonders to power an aggressive Izzet Equipment strategy. The game plan focuses on casting Dalakos on Turn 3, then using his two colorless mana ability on Turn 4 to deploy and attach cheap Equipment. Equipped creatures gain flying and haste, allowing the deck to fly over ground blockers immediately. Mid-game turns scale this advantage by casting high-impact threats like Iron Man, Master of Machines, Chiss-Goria, Forge Tyrant, or Hellkite Tyrant, or by flashing in Embercleave to double damage output. The deck lacks infinite combos and tutors, meaning it wins through sequential combat steps that eliminate opponents one by one, typically closing the game around Turn 9. A suite of low-cost counterspells and defensive cards like Crawlspace helps protect life totals and critical pieces during development.
