Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive Bant Flying Weenie and Stax strategy commanded by Derevi, Empyrial Tactician. The primary game plan opens by deploying a swarm of low-cost, evasive flying creatures on the first two turns. On Turn 3, Derevi enters the battlefield, allowing every connected attack to untap lands and refund mana for instant-speed interaction. The midgame cements an asymmetric resource lock using Rule of Law effects, Hokori, Dust Drinker, and Storage Matrix, while Derevi's combat triggers break parity by untapping lands every turn. Massive card advantage engines like Coastal Piracy, Bident of Thassa, and Edric, Spymaster of Trest refill the hand with counterspells and protection. The deck closes out games through combat overrun, utilizing Beastmaster Ascension, Mirror Entity, or Biomass Mutation to turn small flyers into lethal threats. It offers oppressive lockouts and high resilience, though it remains vulnerable to mass exile sweepers and lacks fast nonland tutoring.
