Deck overview

This deck is a Dimir tempo and cheat strategy commanded by Satoru Umezawa. The game plan revolves around deploying cheap, unblockable 1-drop creatures early, casting Satoru on Turn 3, and using his ability to grant ninjutsu {2}{U}{B} to massive threats in hand. On Turn 4, the deck cheats game-warping payloads like Ancient Silver Dragon or Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger directly onto the battlefield tapped and attacking, bypassing standard counterspells and summoning sickness. The massive card draw generated by these combat triggers quickly fuels secondary deterministic win conditions, including Doomsday paired with Thassa's Oracle and infinite extra turns via Panoptic Mirror imprinting Time Warp. A robust interaction suite of cheap countermagic and removal protects Satoru and disrupts opposing game plans, while standalone engines like Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow and Notion Thief provide high resilience against board stalls and removal.
