Deck overview

This deck is a Bant combat-focused stompy deck commanded by Storvald, Frost Giant Jarl. The core game plan revolves around playing low-cost creatures with combat-damage triggers, such as Cold-Eyed Selkie, Sergeant John Benton, and Oakhame Adversary, and leveraging Storvald's ability to turn them into 7/7 giants. This interaction turns modest card-draw and ramp engines into massive bursts of card advantage and Treasure generation. Storvald provides built-in resilience by giving your entire team Ward {3}, making targeted removal expensive for opponents. The deck supports this with cheat enablers like Monster Manual and Dramatic Entrance, allowing you to drop expensive beaters such as Old Gnawbone and Nyxbloom Ancient ahead of curve. Combat steps are amplified by Finest Hour and Berserk, while defensive fogs like Arachnogenesis and Tangle ensure you survive aggressive crackbacks.
