Deck overview

This deck is an optimized Esper reanimator and discard midrange strategy piloted by Hashaton, Scarab's Fist. The primary game plan revolves around deploying cheap discard enablers like Ghostly Pilferer and Zombie Infestation, then discarding massive, high-impact creature bombs such as Archon of Cruelty, Toxrill, the Corrosive, and Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite while paying {2}{U} to generate 4/4 black Zombie token copies. In parallel, a dense package of traditional reanimation spells including Entomb, Reanimate, and Animate Dead provides redundant, commander-independent access to early threats. Once assembled around Turn 4, the deck imposes crushing asymmetric attrition on opposing boards, stripping creatures and resources while expanding its token army. Backed by robust interaction, free protection spells like Flawless Maneuver, and token shielding via Gleaming Overseer, the deck steadily dismantles opponent defenses and closes out the game through overwhelming combat damage and life drain by Turn 7.
