Commander: The Serpent Society

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Golgari deathtouch-poison control deck built around The Serpent Society. The commander generates a repeatable edict trigger whenever a deathtouch creature dies, turning every small deathtoucher into a removal spell while the Ward-(poison) ability buys time. The primary win condition is accumulating ten poison counters on each opponent through Fynn, the Fangbearer (each deathtouch hit gives two poison), Bilious Skulldweller, and infect auras like Phyresis and Tainted Strike. A secondary path uses half-life loss from Unstoppable Slasher and Aphelia, Viper Whisperer's activated ability. The deck is packed with death-trigger value engines (Moldervine Reclamation, Dark Prophecy, Yawgmoth, Thran Physician) and a robust recursion suite (Cauldron of Essence, Victimize, Lively Dirge) to grind through removal. It controls the board with forced sacrifices from Plaguecrafter, Accursed Marauder, and Meathook Massacre II, relying on deathtouch rattlesnakes to deter attacks.
