Deck overview

This mono-black Commander deck is piloted by Ghoulcaller Gisa and centers on a classic Zombie tribal and aristocrats strategy. The deck curves out low-cost Zombie creatures and utility pieces before deploying Gisa to convert individual high-power creatures into wide armies of 2/2 Zombie tokens. Once a critical mass of tokens is assembled, the deck closes the game through overwhelming combat damage amplified by tribal lords like Undead Warchief, Death Baron, and Liliana's Mastery, or through asymmetric life drain via Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Ayara, First of Locthwain, and Vengeful Dead. While the deck possesses immense redundancy in creature fodder and buff effects, it lacks dedicated tutors, fast mana, and reactive protection spells. Consequently, its execution follows a deliberate midrange clock that relies on incremental board building, resilient graveyard recursion, and token generation rather than compact infinite combos or high-velocity acceleration.
