Deck overview

This 5-color deck pairs Leonardo, the Balance and Michelangelo, the Heart to build an aggressive +1/+1 counter and token engine. Michelangelo attacks early to generate Food tokens and place counters, while Leonardo spreads +1/+1 counters across your entire creature board whenever a token enters. The deck multiplies this board growth through synergy cards like Corpsejack Menace, High Score, and Felidar Retreat. Once your creatures grow large enough, you break through opposing defenses using Leonardo's 5-color activated ability to grant menace, trample, and lifelink, or cast Wave Goodbye to clear non-counter blockers. Card draw engines such as Skullclamp, Garruk's Uprising, and April O'Neil, Live on the Scene keep your hand full of threats. While the deck possesses strong resilience and backup combat engines, its reliance on maintaining a wide creature board across several turns makes it vulnerable to well-timed board sweepers and exile removal.
