Deck overview

This Esper deck executes a potent kindred midrange strategy centered on massive flying Sphinxes. The commander, The Ur-Sphinx, grants an eminence cost reduction from the command zone, allowing you to cast expensive flyers significantly ahead of curve. The deck stacks this discount with cost reducers such as Urza's Incubator, Heartless Summoning, and Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign. Once online, Unesh turns every subsequent Sphinx into a card-advantage engine via repeated Fact or Fiction triggers. The deck quickly builds an overwhelming aerial presence with threats like Consecrated Sphinx, Tivit, Seller of Secrets, and Dream Trawler. Life totals are pressured rapidly through Magister Sphinx, while asymmetric sweepers like Raise the Palisade and Kindred Dominance clear the ground and air for decisive combat strikes. Supported by robust artifact acceleration, resilient reanimation spells, and protective equipment, the deck dominates mid-to-late game board states through sustained card flow, superior aerial stats, and relentless combat pressure.
