Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive Gruul stompy build led by Xenagos, God of Revels. It accelerates mana rapidly in the opening turns using low-cost mana dorks and land auras to resolve Xenagos, God of Revels on Turn 3. On Turn 4, the deck deploys high-impact combat threats such as Bloodthirster, Godo, Bandit Warlord, Klauth, Unrivaled Ancient, or Ojer Kaslem, Deepest Growth. Because the commander grants immediate haste and doubles the creature's power at the beginning of combat, the deck presents explosive combat damage without waiting a turn cycle. It backs up its primary beatdown strategy with efficient creature tutoring, compact redirect and hexproof protection, and secondary value engines like The One Ring and Sylvan Library. By dealing massive bursts of trample and flying damage across multiple combat phases, the deck reliably closes out games by Turn 5.
