Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black control and aristocrats build centered on Fumulus, the Infestation. It controls the board by forcing opponents to sacrifice creatures through recurring edict effects like Grave Pact, Dictate of Erebos, Accursed Marauder, and Plaguecrafter. Each opposing nontoken sacrifice creates a 1/1 black flying Insect token. These tokens serve a dual purpose: they fuel high-volume card draw with spells like Skullclamp and Village Rites, and they whittle down life totals through Fumulus's attack drain trigger. The deck closes games around Turn 7 by attacking with an evasive Insect army and sacrificing tokens into drain engines such as Blood Artist, Bastion of Remembrance, and Mirkwood Bats, or casting a lethal Torment of Hailfire. While vulnerable to noncreature combo strategies and artifact-based threats, its creature suppression and card velocity make it a formidable attrition powerhouse.
