Commander: Sheoldred, the Apocalypse

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a mono-black draw-drain combo deck built around Sheoldred, the Apocalypse. The game plan is to turn drawing cards into life swings - Sheoldred pays you for every card you draw and taxes every opponent card draw - then convert that life into a table kill through the Bloodthirsty Conqueror + Sanguine Bond/Enduring Tenacity/Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose infinite loop, or through Bolas's Citadel and Aetherflux Reservoir. The early game leans on Swamp-based ramp in Crypt Ghast, Nirkana Revenant, and Black Market, plus heavy draw engines like Necropotence, Necrodominance, and Phyrexian Arena. Peer into the Abyss functions as a one-card kill with Sheoldred, or a huge self-draw that assembles the loop. Because the primary combo pieces live in the 99, Sheoldred is an accelerant and finisher rather than a strict requirement for the deck to function.
