Format: Commander

Commander: Sam, Loyal Attendant and Frodo, Adventurous Hobbit

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is an Abzan Food-token aristocrats/payoffs deck built around Sam, Loyal Attendant + Frodo, Adventurous Hobbit, turning an endless supply of Food into incremental life drain via Mirkwood Bats, Marionette Apprentice, Disciple of the Vault, and the The Sackville-Bagginses. The primary engine is the massive token generation from the commanders (Sam makes a Food each combat, Frodo provides a soft card-advantage by tempting the Ring and drawing). The deck then wins either by amassing enough Food to convert into a life total high enough with Bilbo, Birthday Celebrant (who tutors and masses the board) or with the multi-piece drain from Ygra, Eater of All/Cauldron Familiar loops that are realised through Ygra's ability to turn all creatures into Food. There is no one-card combo, but the density of token makers and payoff triggers creates layers of incidental damage that can finish the pod consistently as early as turns 5-6.
