Michiko Control by hdanner

Format: Commander

Commander: Michiko Konda, Truth Seeker

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a mono-white attrition/control deck that wins by making combat and spell-casting expensive, then abusing life-total manipulation. Michiko Konda, Truth Seeker punishes anyone who damages you by forcing a sacrifice, while a dense pillowfort of Ghostly Prison, Sphere of Safety, Norn's Annex, Crawlspace, and Windborn Muse keeps attackers away. A tax/stax layer of Rule of Law, Deafening Silence, Kismet, Blind Obedience, Drannith Magistrate, and Linvala, Keeper of Silence slows the rest of the table. Draw comes from Esper Sentinel, Mangara, the Diplomat, Trouble in Pairs, and the monarch Courts. The primary win is Test of Endurance; the fastest shortcut is Axis of Mortality plus Beacon of Immortality, doubling an opponent's life and then exchanging totals. Approach of the Second Sun is the backup. The commander is useful deterrent, not the engine.
