Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Simic kindred aggro-tempo deck commanded by Hakbal of the Surging Soul. The strategy curves low-cost Merfolk into Hakbal, using combat explore triggers to rapidly buff the board with +1/+1 counters, draw land drops, and filter the top of the library. It accelerates mana through efficient dorks and land enchantments, then deploys kindred lords like Lord of Atlantis and counter multipliers like Branching Evolution or Roaming Throne. Evasion pieces such as Herald of Secret Streams and Harbinger of the Seas ensure attacks bypass blockers completely, closing games by Turn 6. The deck shields its board with Ripples of Potential, Inspiring Call, and Vodalian Hexcatcher, and runs alternate engines through Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca and Simic Ascendancy.
