Azula Spells! by ridman

Format: Commander

Commander: Fire Lord Azula

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This Grixis spellslinger deck is helmed by Fire Lord Azula, who turns combat into a copying engine. Attacking with Azula generates {R}{R} via firebending, and every spell you cast while she is attacking gets copied. The deck capitalizes on that by packing cheap instants and sorceries, magecraft payoffs like Archmage Emeritus and Ashling Flame Dancer, and copy amplifiers such as Thousand-Year Storm and Twinning Staff. The primary win path is to generate overwhelming mana through firebending (especially with Sozin's Comet) and then finish opponents with a copied X-spell like Crackle with Power or Torment of Hailfire. The deck also has a deep interactive suite, strong card selection, and several back-up beaters like Ozai, the Phoenix King and Etali, Primal Storm.
