Deck overview

This Dimir changeling tribal deck leverages the synergy between Volo, Itinerant Scholar and the Haunted One background to generate massive card advantage and combat resilience. Volo's Journal notes a new creature type each time you cast a creature spell, and since every changeling is every type, you quickly accumulate notes to fuel repeated card draw. Haunted One grants undying and a power boost to Volo and all creatures that share a creature type (i.e., all changelings) whenever Volo becomes tapped, turning even small bodies into recursive threats. The deck wins through combat damage via buffed, unblockable changelings, via Syr Konrad, the Grim triggering off undying recursion, or by decking itself with Laboratory Maniac. It eschews traditional tutors, instead relying on deep redundancy and strong draw engines to find its pieces.
