Deck overview

This Grixis deck focuses on the Villain creature type, led by Doctor Doom, King of Latveria. The core strategy builds around discard and connive mechanics, using combat steps to loot, grow creatures with +1/+1 counters, and burn opponents whenever land cards are discarded. Mana rocks and cost reducers like Baron Strucker, HYDRA Overlord accelerate the deployment of mid-sized threats such as Ultron, Unlimited, Madame Hydra, and Iron Monger, Sadistic Tycoon. The deck transitions into a lethal midgame threat on Turn 6 by dropping major team buffs like The Squadron Sinister or Titania, Proud Pummeler, granting haste, evasion, and massive power boosts. While the list excels at sustained combat pressure and graveyard recursion through mayhem and Chainer, Nightmare Adept, it lacks countermagic to protect against board wipes, making careful deployment and selective recovery essential.
