Deck overview

This deck is an explosive Izzet spellslinger aggro list commanded by Rootha, Mastering the Moment. The central game plan focuses on casting high-mana-value instants and sorceries that feature substantial alternative cost reductions—such as delve on Treasure Cruise, Dig Through Time, and Temporal Trespass, or power discounts on Volcanic Salvo. By casting these spells during the precombat main phase, Rootha triggers at the beginning of combat to create massive 8/8 to 12/12 flying Elemental tokens with haste. The deck amplifies this aerial assault using token multipliers like Redoubled Stormsinger and additional combat phases from Full Throttle and Seize the Day. Mana velocity is sustained by efficient 2-drop rocks and cost reducers like Baral, Chief of Compliance and Stormcatch Mentor, while card selection engines keep hands full. Countermagic and targeted bounce protect key turns, allowing the deck to close games through overwhelming combat damage by Turn 7.
