Deck overview

This mono-black aristocrats and reanimator deck uses Avacyn, Angel of Horror to turn sacrifice effects into recurring value engines. By returning all nontoken creatures that died back to the battlefield at the beginning of the next end step, Avacyn breaks parity on continuous sacrifice triggers. The deck deploys mana acceleration via rituals, mana rocks, and mana doublers like Crypt Ghast and K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth to accelerate its high-cost commander into play. Once Avacyn is established alongside a sacrifice outlet and an edict creature such as Fleshbag Marauder or Plaguecrafter, opponents are forced to sacrifice creatures on every single turn of the game. Meanwhile, aristocrat drainers like Blood Artist, Bastion of Remembrance, and Kokusho, the Evening Star drain opponents' life totals with each death and return trigger. Supported by heavy mass reanimation spells like Living Death and Rise of the Dark Realms, the deck maintains overwhelming board control and inevitable table-wide life drain.
