Deck overview

This is a Derevi, Empyrial Tactician stax-control deck built around a "tap/untap" lock. The commander enters the battlefield for a flat {1}{G}{W}{U} via an activated ability, bypassing commander tax, and each combat damage trigger from any of your creatures lets you tap an opponent's permanent or untap one of your own. The deck deploys a dense stax shell (Stasis, Winter Orb, Static Orb, Thalia, Deafening Silence, Rule of Law, Drannith Magistrate) to slow opponents to a crawl while Derevi breaks parity - untapping your lands under Winter Orb or paying for Stasis each turn. Card advantage comes from Rhystic Study, Mystic Remora, Esper Sentinel, Sylvan Library, and combat-triggered draw from Edric, Choco, Mr. Foxglove. The win condition is prolonged combat damage from evasive Birds, with the lock eventually denying opponents any ability to develop.
