Deck overview

This Esper Zombie deck is piloted by Varina, Lich Queen, functioning as an aggressive tribal swarm and aristocrats strategy. The game plan focuses on deploying inexpensive Zombies in the early turns, casting Varina, and attacking to generate massive card filtering, life buffer, and graveyard fodder. The discarded cards fuel Varina's token-generating ability as well as powerful mass reanimation spells like Zombie Apocalypse, Lich-Knights' Conquest, and Rot Hulk. As the Zombie horde expands, passive drain effects from Wayward Servant, Corpse Knight, and Diregraf Captain chip away at opposing life totals, while lords such as Death Baron, Lord of the Accursed, and Cemetery Reaper grant lethal combat stats and evasion. Synergies like Archfiend of Ifnir convert Varina's looting triggers into one-sided board wipes against opponents. While vulnerable to mass graveyard exile and non-destruction board wipes, the deck's card churning and resilient recursion make it a formidable mid-game engine.
