Commander: Witherbloom, the Balancer

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Witherbloom, the Balancer is a Golgari creature-heavy midrange deck built around affinity for creatures. The commander rarely costs full price because the deck floods the board with small utility creatures, tokens, and counter-growing threats. The primary plan is to out-value opponents with card advantage and +1/+1 counters, then finish with an overwhelming trample swing (Full Steam Ahead, Ghalta, Invoke the Ancients). Secondary paths include Mirkwood Bats token drain and a recursive attrition game. Witherbloom's flying deathtouch doubles as a commander-damage threat and a mana discount engine for instants and sorceries. There is no infinite combo; wins are fair, multi-turn combat operations. The deck functions acceptably without its commander, but he meaningfully lowers the cost of key spells.
