Deck overview

This deck is a classic Boros battlecruiser strategy commanded by Kalemne, Disciple of Iroas. It focuses on curving into large 5+ mana value Giant and Angel creatures to trigger Kalemne's experience counter ability, rapidly inflating the commander into a lethal double-striking threat. The deck complements its heavy beaters with powerful damage multipliers such as Fiery Emancipation, Calamity Bearer, and Gisela, Blade of Goldnight, which allow both Kalemne and supporting giants to threaten rapid player eliminations. While the deck boasts immense combat damage potential and capable board wipes like Blasphemous Act, its reliance on high mana costs and a low density of card draw makes it prone to running out of gas if its initial threats are answered. The game plan centers on establishing a clean mana base, deploying Kalemne on curve, and chaining impactful high-CMC threats to close out the game through overwhelming combat steps.
