Deck overview

Tannuk, Memorial Ensign leads a Gruul landfall deck that converts land drops into direct burn damage, card advantage, and massive creature swarms. The deck accelerates early using 2-mana and 3-mana ramp spells like Farseek, Cultivate, and Dance of the Tumbleweeds to deploy Tannuk ahead of curve. Once Tannuk is in play, triggering two landfalls in a turn pings every opponent and draws an extra card to sustain momentum. In the mid-to-late game, the deck transitions into high-impact threats including Omnath, Locus of Rage, Rampaging Baloths, and Scute Swarm. Spells such as Boundless Realms and Through the Forest Gate generate double-digit land entries in a single turn, burying opponents under 4/4 Beasts, 5/5 Elementals, and insect swarms. While the strategy boasts explosive late-game mana velocity and redundant win conditions, it lacks instant-speed mass protection and nonland tutoring, leaving wide creature boards vulnerable to well-timed sweepers.
