07. Food Wars!

Format: Commander

Commander: The Cabbage Merchant

Bracket: 3

DeckCheck Threat Index: 38

Deck overview

This mono-green deck uses The Cabbage Merchant to turn opposing noncreature spells and natural token generation into a massive stockpile of Food. It accelerates mana by tapping pairs of Foods or using Jaheira, Friend of the Forest to treat every token as a mana source. After developing a wide board of artifact and creature tokens by turn 4, the deck pivots into game-ending combat overruns on turn 5 using Craterhoof Behemoth, Blossoming Bogbeast, Displaced Dinosaurs, or an end-step Rampage of the Clans. Card advantage engines like The One Ring, Peregrin Took, and Idol of Oblivion keep resources flowing, while Heroic Intervention shields key setup turns. The strategy is straightforward, highly resilient against spot removal, and capable of closing games rapidly once critical token mass is achieved.
