Deck overview

This Bant deck leverages Shanna, Purifying Blade to convert lifegain into substantial card advantage, fueling a wide and tall +1/+1 counters combat engine. Early turns focus on accelerating mana through 2-CMC ramp spells and establishing lifegain or counter-enhancers such as Hardened Scales and Cleric Class. Once Shanna enters the battlefield, consistent lifelink attacks allow end-step mana investments to draw multiple fresh cards every turn cycle. The mid-game transitions into aggressive board building through engines like Lathiel, the Bounteous Dawn, Heliod, Sun-Crowned, and Valkyrie Harbinger. Shield counters, ward, and selective protection cards such as Ripples of Potential safeguard key creatures against conventional destruction. The deck reaches critical combat pressure around Turn 7 and closes out the table by Turn 9 using mass trample and flying enablers like Duskshell Crawler and Odric, Lunarch Marshal.
