Deck overview

This deck is a Jund attrition strategy built around Auntie Ool, Cursewretch and -1/-1 counter synergies. Its primary game plan is to accelerate mana in the early turns, deploy the commander alongside efficient counter-placing engines, and systematically dismantle opposing creature boards. When -1/-1 counters land on opposing creatures, Auntie Ool steadily saps opponent life totals; when counters target your own creatures, she refills your hand. Payoffs like Kulrath Knight and Maha, Its Feathers Night lock opponents out of combat and make board wipes effortless, while Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons and Nest of Scarabs build wide token swarms. The deck lacks compact infinite combos, instead grinding out inevitable victories through combat and drain by Turn 9. While exceptionally strong against creature-heavy boards, the deck has limited interaction on the stack and must respect fast spell-based combo decks.
