Format: Commander

Commander: Vivi Ornitier

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Izzet spellslinger deck is helmed by Vivi Ornitier, a commander that grows with every noncreature spell and eventually produces mana equal to its power to fuel further spells. The primary game plan is to chain instants and sorceries, triggering a squadron of pingers (Guttersnipe, Electrostatic Field, Firebrand Archer, Coruscation Mage) to burn down the table while Vivi Ornitier adds both a +1/+1 counter and a damage point per cast. The deck also contains an infinite damage combo with Niv-Mizzet, Parun and either Curiosity or Tandem Lookout - a two-card line that wins the game on the spot. Secondary paths involve mass recursion via Past in Flames and copying spells with Thousand-Year Storm to overwhelm opponents. The commander's mana generation turns a large hand of spells into a torrent, but the deck lacks heavy tutor support, making its explosive plays more reliant on natural draw.
