Deck overview

This Queen Marchesa deck executes a classic Mardu Aikido and political control strategy. Early turns focus on accelerating mana and establishing defensive pillowfort permanents such as Ghostly Prison and Authority of the Consuls. Queen Marchesa is cast on Turn 3 or 4 to introduce the Monarch, providing consistent card flow while disincentivizing attacks through deathtouch rattlesnakes. The mid-game leverages forced combat mechanics, using Disrupt Decorum, Kardur, Doomscourge, and Alexios, Deimos of Kosmos to turn opponents' resources against each other. Sudden defensive reversals like Inkshield, Deflecting Palm, and Delirium punish alpha strikes. The late-game transitions into decisive asymmetry via one-sided board wipes like Ruinous Ultimatum, damage multipliers like Gisela, Blade of Goldnight, or mass-theft through Insurrection, eliminating the remaining opponents in one or two combat steps.
