Deck overview

This is a Golgari +1/+1 counters midrange deck helmed by Jenova, Ancient Calamity. The plan is to grow a critical mass of large creatures through counter doublers and combat-phase pumps, convert those bodies into Mutants via Jenova, then cash them in-either by attacking or by deliberate sacrifice-to draw huge piles of cards and rebuild. Primary wins come from overwhelming combat with trampling Mutants and from drain finishers such as Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord and Cauldron of Essence. Recursion engines like Meren of Clan Nel Toth, The Ozolith, and Evolution Witness keep the board sticky, while a modest suite of spot removal and protection spells buys the time needed to go over the top. There are no infinite combo lines; the deck wins through attrition, exponential counter growth, and repeated life drain.
