Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov Lifegain Midrange strategy built to generate immense life totals and convert incremental lifegain into card advantage, massive creatures, and table-wide drain. Piloted by Niv-Mizzet, Ghost Counsel, the deck leverages early soul-sister effects like Guide of Souls and Ajani's Welcome to trigger growing threats such as Voice of the Blessed and Essence Channeler. As the game transitions into the midgame, engines like Well of Lost Dreams, Exemplar of Light, and Necrologia refill the hand, while damage multipliers like Astarion, the Decadent and Doctor Strange, Surgeon amplify board presence. The deck closes games through an alternate win condition in Felidar Sovereign, massive group drain via Debt to the Deathless and Exsanguinate, or overwhelming combat damage buffed by Nykthos Paragon. While highly resilient to chip damage and self-sufficient without its commander, the deck suffers from low reactive interaction and limited protection against mass board wipes.
