Deck overview

This deck is a focused Gruul Werewolf and Wolf tribal aggro deck piloted by Tovolar, Dire Overlord // Tovolar, the Midnight Scourge. The strategy focuses on curving out low-cost tribal creatures on the first two turns, resolving Tovolar on Turn 3, and using his ability to automatically trigger night on Turn 4. Once night falls, the deck's creatures transform into high-stat threats that draw cards upon dealing combat damage, snowballing card advantage into mid-game finishers like Tovolar's Huntmaster, Overrun, and Relentless Assault. While the deck excels at generating hand refill through combat, its reliance on a wide creature board leaves it vulnerable to sweepers and creature interaction. Disruption is largely restricted to fight spells and artifact/enchantment removal, meaning the deck must race opposing game plans through overwhelming combat pressure rather than controlling the stack.
